Guitar & Songwriting Lessons

I teach with an inspiration-led approach, working with students to create music that sparks their own curiosity and authentic emotional expression. This approach makes their musical growth as fun, engaging, and rewarding as possible while still equipping students with the fundamental skills to expand their musical language.  Having studied with many teachers, I've find that every student benefits from a learning path that is designed around their unique interests.

Experience: I am an actively gigging guitarist and singer-songwriter with 15+ years of experience both in the studio and on stage.  I grew up in a musical household and quickly fell in love with Folk (Simon & Garfunkel), Blues (B.B. King & Eric Clapton), Jazz (Wes Montgomery, Thelonious Monk) and rockers like Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page. Early on, I joined my middle school's jazz band, started my own rock band, and have been deep in the music world ever since. I have a B.S. degree from Cornell University, where I minored in Jazz and learned advanced music theory while playing in jazz and cover bands with music ranging from The Beatles to Jay-Z and The Strokes. Since then I've played actively in many bands covering musical ground ranging from Funk and Soul to Folk and Hip-Hop. I also started a non-profit called Musicollage through which I organize improv singing workshops and interactive concerts.

I have been a life-long music student, and I continue to learn from masterful musicians in an ever expanding range of genres. Most recently, I've been learning music production and sound engineering out of my home studio in Frenchtown, NJ.

Music has been a constant thread of joy, connection, and meaning in my life, and I love to share this creative universe with students so that they too can weave music into the fabric of their lives.
